First hazmat night. What counts as a hazmat, how it can harm you, what you are allowed to do at Awareness level, and who makes the rules. ERGs and task books are issued tonight. Scheduled Tue, Sep 15, 2026, 1800-2200.

  1. Recognize the presence of hazardous materials and WMD at an incident scene (NFPA 470, 5.2.1)
  2. List ways that hazardous materials can harm you (5.2.1)
  3. Explain the roles and responsibilities of Awareness Level Personnel and Operations Level Responders (5.1.1, 5.1.3, 5.2.1, 5.3.1, 5.4.1)
  4. Discuss hazardous materials regulations and standards at the federal, state and local level (5.1.3, 5.2.1)
